Nia’s Evaluation:

AnaSofia is a 6'0" setter/right side from Virginia who brings size, skill, and presence to the court — a true standout in the 2026 class. Her length at the setter position gives her a clear advantage, and she combines that with soft, clean hands and a confident release. She reads the game exceptionally well, distributes with purpose, and connects with her hitters to keep them in rhythm. Whether running tempo, reversing flow, or attacking from the right side, she operates with poise and maturity.

The exciting part is her trajectory — she’s still just beginning to tap into her ceiling. With continued development, AnaSofia projects as the type of setter who can evolve into a high-impact leader at the collegiate level.

Off the court, AnaSofia is just as driven. She is committed in the classroom, takes pride in her academic performance, and approaches her goals with focus and discipline.

We are excited to support AnaSofia on her mentorship and development journey — helping her continue to grow her leadership, refine her skill, and prepare to make her mark at the next level.

A Note From A.Z:

I’ve grown up surrounded by athletics, but volleyball is where I discovered my own voice. As the youngest of four in a family of Division I athletes and coaches, I’ve spent my life immersed in competitive environments that taught me focus and resilience. From my earliest memories sitting courtside at practices and tournaments, I’ve seen the game from every angle – as a player, a coach’s kid, and a teammate. Volleyball has always been more than a sport to me; it’s been a constant thread of connection and growth.

Attending four very different high schools challenged me to adjust quickly and build confidence in new settings. Each transition pushed me to rebuild relationships, embrace change, and lead with empathy. At Bishop McNamara, I served as one of two team captains and ran my team in the competitive WCAC. It was a completely new challenge – learning to lead a new team in a new culture – but it became one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I learned to communicate under pressure, remain composed, and earn trust through consistency and example.

At 6’0”, I bring an uncommon presence and perspective to the setter position, combining strength at the net with a strategic understanding of the game. I’ve maintained a 3.9 GPA in AP and Honors courses while adapting to a range of learning environments. I’m self-critical, driven, and always looking for ways to improve, but I also value environments that encourage growth through challenge – where taking risks and learning from mistakes are seen as part of becoming better.

I’m eager to contribute to a collegiate program that values commitment, curiosity, and genuine team chemistry. Volleyball has shaped the way I think and compete, but even more, it has taught me how to inspire those around me. I’m ready to bring that same energy, perspective, and work ethic to the next level.
